Job Description

We’re establishing a high‑impact, enterprise‑wide program to strengthen member outcomes, product integrity and long‑term trust across a complex product environment.

As a Contract Program Manager, this is role will lead the design and delivery of a significant strategic initiative focused on fairness, transparency and sustainable outcomes for members. Operating in a high‑scrutiny environment, you will bring structure, discipline and delivery momentum to work that is critical to the bank’s integrity and member confidence.

Sitting within Defence Bank’s Regulatory & Remediation Portfolio, the role carries end‑to‑end accountability for establishing program structure, governance and delivery momentum. You will work closely with executive leaders, risk and assurance functions, and cross‑functional delivery teams to ensure outcomes are aligned to regulatory expectations and deeply member‑centred.

You will shape the overall program approach — including governance frameworks, delivery roadmaps, decision forums and reporting — bringing clarity and rigour to complex work that requires strong judgement and evidentiary discipline. The role requires the ability to move seamlessly between strategic program design and hands‑on delivery leadership.

A key aspect of the role is translating complexity into clear, decision‑ready insights for senior stakeholders, including executives and board committees, while partnering with customer, risk and communication teams to ensure member impacts are addressed thoughtfully and consistently.

This role is suited to an experienced program leader who is comfortable operating with high levels of autonomy, balancing pace with precision, and who brings a strong personal commitment to integrity, fairness and accountability.

  • Proven experience leading complex regulatory and/or remediation programs within financial services, operating in high‑scrutiny environments where outcomes must be defensible and evidence‑based.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and mobilise enterprise‑wide programs, including defining governance, delivery roadmaps, decision forums and reporting cadence.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and consumer fairness principles, with experience partnering closely with risk, compliance, legal and assurance functions.
  • Experience leading data‑enabled initiatives, working with data and technology teams to support accuracy, traceability and evidentiary rigour.
  • Highly developed executive communication skills, including translating complexity into clear, decision‑ready insights for senior leaders and board‑level forums.
  • Strong stakeholder leadership capability, with the ability to influence without authority and align cross‑functional teams around shared outcomes.

  • A disciplined delivery mindset — able to balance pace with precision.
  • A values‑led approach, with a genuine commitment to fairness, transparency, accountability and member outcomes.

Desirable

  • Prior experience in member or customer remediation, including fairness considerations and member communication impacts.
  • Exposure to regulator‑facing programs, independent reviews or assurance uplift initiatives.
