Job Description

The Opportunity.

As the Regional Manager – ACT & Defence Industry Partnerships, you’ll be responsible for the overall performance and capability of the ACT bank branch network, as well as leading the development and execution of a Defence Industry Partnerships (DIP) strategy.

The role builds and maintains strategic relationships across the Defence industry ecosystem, increases organisational presence and influence in Defence industry forums, and converts partnerships into sustainable member, lending and brand outcomes. The role also uplifts internal capability, enabling bank Branch Managers and key stakeholders to confidently participate in Defence relationship management and engagement activities.

 

In this position, you will:

  • Lead and motivate Branch Managers and Member Consultants within a geographical region to achieve performance targets both in-branch and through customer calls. 
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and resolve issues to foster high-performing teams and develop individual capabilities. 
  • Promote Defence Bank within the Defence Community, Defence Industry, and the broader community to enhance awareness and grow the member base. 
  • Develop and deliver a Defence Industry Partnerships strategy and annual engagement plan aligned to enterprise priorities. 
  • Take a proactive approach to managing performance ensuring that timely action is taken and proper process followed to ensure both employee and the Bank are protected.  
  • Implement the network distribution strategy, aligning branch operations with digital and omni-channel goals. 
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and resolve issues to foster high-performing teams and develop individual capabilities. 
  • Ensure branch operations comply with Defence Bank’s policies, legislation, and risk management protocols. 
  • Work with team members to achieve lending targets and promote home loan opportunities across the network. 
  • Support other regions across Defence Bank if required.

Desired Skills and Experience

You’re passionate about delivering outstanding service while keeping on track with performance goals. You enjoy developing your knowledge and skills and thrive on the challenge of growing a sustainable business.

You have:

  • At least eight years' experience leading a sales team ideally within a lending environment and financial services
  • Vocational Qualification in financial services, sales, or team leadership.
  • Tier 2 qualification is preferred but not required.
  • The ability to travel both intra and interstate.
     

Demonstrated experience or skills in:

  • Building effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adhering to and achieving local sales/business development plans.
  • Facilitating presentations to small and large groups.
  • Motivated to achieve agreed goals.
  • Picking up new concepts quickly.
  • Time management with the ability to handle unplanned interruptions.
  • Using Microsoft Office.
