Job Description

The Opportunity. 

Reporting to the Distribution Support Manager, this role sits within our Branch Distribution function and plays an important part in shaping how our network operates day to day. You’ll bring a fresh perspective to how we manage processes, working to enhance efficiency, reduce complexity and support our teams to perform at their best.  

Using data, insights and reporting, you’ll help identify trends and uncover opportunities to improve how we work. Partnering closely with Member Operations, Risk & Compliance and our frontline teams, you’ll contribute to building strong, practical controls while supporting the frontline team's ways of working, effective management of incidents and regulatory requirements. 

This is a highly collaborative role where you’ll build strong relationships across the business, acting as a key connection point between branches and the Support Office. You’ll be encouraged to think creatively, challenge the status quo and drive meaningful improvements that make a real difference to both our people and our members.  

You’ll also play a key role in supporting and uplifting frontline capability—helping teams navigate change with confidence, strengthen their risk awareness and deliver consistently great member experiences. 
 
This is a 12 month contract role and open to applicants from around Australia.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Maintain and enhance branch operational risk procedures, ensuring alignment to industry standards and internal frameworks 

  • Analyse data and exception reports to generate actionable insights and improve decision-making 

  • Act as a key liaison between branches, Support Office and Risk & Compliance teams 

  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation and efficiency initiatives 

  • Contribute to the Bank’s risk strategy and ensure branch operations align with regulatory obligations 

  • Support training and capability uplift of frontline teams to effectively manage operational risk 

  • Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the branch network  

 

Desired Skills and Experience

About You 

You are a proactive and analytical professional with strong risk and process expertise, who thrives in a role where you can influence change and improve how teams operate. You bring a balance of technical capability and stakeholder engagement, with a passion for continuous improvement and delivering better outcomes for members and teams. 

You will bring: 

  • Experience in operational risk management and compliance within financial services 

  • Strong data analysis, reporting and insight generation capability 

  • Experience in process improvement and driving efficiency outcomes 

  • Knowledge of branch operations and banking processes 

  • Exposure to incident and complaint management 

  • Experience working with risk systems (e.g. MRM, Drover) or similar 

  • Background in training, coaching or capability uplift of frontline teams 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the banking industry  

You’ll also demonstrate: 

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to influence outcomes 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capability 

  • Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands 

  • Adaptability and comfort working in an agile, evolving environment 

  • A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement
